Main objectives of the role:
- Formulating and perfecting the rules and regulations of the Company
- Drafting and reviewing contracts and other legal documents, and promoting the
standardization of the contracts for the Company - Providing legal services for investment projects, including legal due diligence and
negotiations - Issuing legal opinions on specific issues
- Handling the settlement of any actual or potential dispute, either by reconciliation,
litigation or arbitration to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the Company - Developing and implementing compliance procedures in line with international
regulations in commodities and shipping, and handling legal compliance
issues - Organizing and training the employees of the Company on common legal
knowledge - Communicating with external legal professional engaged by the Company
- Communicating with legal advisers in the Company.
Core skills:
- Legal professional qualification in Singapore and UK legal jurisdiction
- 5-7-years work experience either in large-scale international trade enterprises or law firms
- Familiarity with international trade of bulk commodities, shipping business,
legal compliance etc. - Strong communication skills, and proficient in both English and Chinese languages
- Meticulous with good analytical skills
- Result oriented and capable of working within strict guidelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
